Act of Kindness

Chuck Swedlund and my friend Lou Fremgen discuss exactly what language and tone to use in signing the exhibit catalog. They also considered the effect named attributions have on the future value of the signed work. And how many "u"s are in Lou.
Upon asking Mrs. Swedlund if we could have Chuck sign catalogs, she told there is a fee of $20 for signing books. This ran in the face of Chuck who later said $10.
Then in an unusually magnanimous gesture he decide to waive any fee for signing. Heh!
Some of this is true.
Keep Eager.

I love the way those framed buttons look against the brick wall. Looks like a nice time.

I like this photo, but then I like almost every photograph I see of yours, John ... now I'm interested as to what the exhibition was and want to see bigger those shots on the wall ...

pdh,
You're very generous too. Thank You.
Chuck Swedlund was the head of the Photo Department at SIU Carbondale.
I exhibited with him a couple times and have great respect for what he did over the years.
This particular exhibit called The Whole Show is in place at the Alibi Gallery on West Montrose in Chicago.

thanks for that John -- this isn't the place to discuss Chuck Swedlund's work but I found the gallery website and the images and ... it seems Bill Brandt lives!
