SIJ - Day 2
In my hometown, a typical commuter place, I consider the local train station to be best place for street photography. Anywhere else people are just to aware of your presence.

The station has a very sober architecture and while it is usually a quite busy place, it is also a location that provides interesting spots to echo moody feelings. In this case the pose of the man, for me, increases the somber feeling.
And it is an ought train station. It is named after two cities, Ede and Wageningen, and while Wageningen is some 7 km to the south many people still think they arrived in Wageningen instead of Ede.

You don't want to arrive their in the dark. Although there is hardly any crime there it still gives that unpleasant feeling.

were you trying to see how many classic photo elements you could get in one shot? train station, grafitti, bicycle, black and white, old man in jaunty hat.....you've got it all.....and well assembled.

A very poignant and moving image. The darkness and highlights are beautiful.

I agree, nice moody shot, the somber atmosphere in the image is quite strong.

Almost too strange Luke, that all these elements came together. It makes sense to come back to a place a lot.

This evokes so many thoughts from a relatively simple image (as the comments show).

Bill, while the subject and the bicycle make up a relatively simple composition. All the horizontal lines in the background at additional layers and depth.
