This photo (and another a few days back and most probably also today's) was taken from Luiz I bridge, in Porto. This bridge was built between 1881 and 1888, it is 385 meters long and 45 meters high.
It shakes a lot!... This photo was taken straight down from the top level. Not that difficult if you are looking through the camera, but the moment I look straight down it becomes a bit harder! So glad I could retain that feeling on the photo, even if providing dizziness or headaches. Sorry!
Regarding portrait/landscape. Well, actually it is on portrait considering my position. Still, I chose the landscape to keep the pavement structure as much as possible on the image. The same photo with cars looses that, so I was lucky to find those bickers there.
