SIJ - Day07

"Coming Apart"

I promised to do better today, but a series of mishaps changed my plans. I hope this isn't considered cheating, but this is a photo of a photo taken today with the S95 at 35mm equiv. Processed in LR3.5, and Nik SEP Pro.

I originally took this photo with an Olympus e330 back in 2008 when the car was still coming apart (thus the title). It was a series of 5 images taken specifically for HDRI processing with Photomatx 3.0 and then processed in LR and PSE 3.0. The original is in color, and is a bit over the top. I thought it might be acceptible, as it is following along with the project theme I'm trying to stay with.

You may notice the difference in the garage configuration compared to the shot the other day.
The processing makes for a very interesting image - where minute detail is so fine that it adds texture to the scene.

Wild and wonderful!

I don't know if you know the cartoonist Robert Crumb (known for his satirical and often over the top drawings..."Keep on Truckin", "Fritz the Cat" etc.) but this reminds me of his drawing style. You're really good at this kind of post processing, Otto.:th_salute:

Yes, the detail here is almost overwhelming. I find myself scanning the picture and settling on this detail and that. Detail as a kind of texture... that is an interesting idea and really is a good description.

a photo OF a photo is NOT cheating. Over the top HDR is generally not for me, but I make exceptions for subject matter. Autos is one of them. Nice work.
