SIJ - Day 11 Tranquil dawn at Newbridge Quay, Kingsbridge Estuary

I had thought about photographing at this spot later in the morning with a different viewpoint trying to catch the ebbing spring tide flowing under Newbridge. However having had my breakfast and one cup of tea the sky looked just too good to resist and since this site is hardly more than a mile from my cottage it was off out to catch the sunrise.
A relatively standard landscape and yet another unplanned one, it obviously had to be rendered as a colour photograph, never mind I'm sure there will be other opportunities for black and white.
So an early conclusion to todays challenge.
Delightful.
I've read many go on about "the golden hour" but I think morning light is wonderful ... if only I were not such a slug-a-bed ...

Beautiful. Good composition. I like having the weight below the horizon as well as the fade to black at the bootom. Nicely captured.

Lovely, Barrie! Those reflections - it's as though we have two skies! I think this is one of your most beautiful ever. The colors are superb and the mood sublime. A classic worth printing.

i love this, very much, serene, gorgeous colors, your composition is very very well done

So serene Barrie.

Once again, I take my hat off to your knack with landscapes. It seems so simple a process, but coming from someone who has contended with this genre for a time I can say it is no simple matter, and you make it look so effortless!

Excellent use of fore-, mid-, and back-ground and compositional elements to lead us into and step us through each layer. Great tones here also.

You are building quite the portfolio my friend!
