Finished my training today and had the afternoon to walk around here in Savannah. Its a bit cold today as the temps are in the high 40's (F) with quite a bit of breeze. So I decided to go into the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
Must admit I thought this was a part of Seeain's (woof) Yale series. Nice work Duane, so rich in colour - but it's the light and shadows that do it for me mate. Love the patterns created on the floor and behind the altar...
Very beautiful shot. The colours are rich and full, but as Mark has pointed out it's the shadows and detail that really turns this shot from nice to excellent.
I was sure I'd left a comment here yesterday but it's not showing up! Maybe I started to and the site wasn't quite up to snuff yet?
What an amazing Cathedral interior! I'm going to have to look this church up to learn about its history. I don't usually think of such ornate churches as being part of our South...just shows you how little I know.
Beautiful image and I love the deep blue and gold ceiling in the nave, if that's the right word. Stunning!
