SIJ - Day 16
Impressions of the Aussie bush
I'd committed to attempting an impressionistic landscape - without reverting to extreme presets, unsharp masks, drastic noise reduction or the like. So I was going for natural tones and hues that gave that soft landscape look - not so easy with an Australian bush scene either as our lines are more angular and harsh that those in Europe and North America.

So anyway here's my attempt. A little tweak of curves and saturation and some vignetting added.
Mark I like how this image divides neatly into 3 and it could have been B&W until the lower third appears on screen.

Mark, your attempts at being a painter (not well versed enough in these things to know which school) have paid off very well.

I like this a lot, and wonder what it might be like with less contrast/definition in the clouds

I've been trying similar adjustments with cold winter landscapes. I'm not succeeding as well as you.

Nice image, its a bit dreamy, surreal and moody. The vignetting and the detail on the clouds gives the overall image more depth. Nice capture

Uh oh, Mark - I see a "signature style"!

As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I knew it was one of yours and I love your somewhat "old master" palette. Beautifully done just as it is, in my opinion. There's a richness in this one as in a number of your other SIJ photographs that is truly beautiful.

I like the mood and composition of this picture. Very nice.

The safety film is from the photo app Photoforge2 on my iPad. A great wee app.
