SIJ Day 19 - Hot Chocolate, Lexington, MA

Back to the coffee shop to warm up with some hot chocolate - it's another freezing cold night.
Nice shot! I like the composition, with the window frame giving some strong lines and the outside world a bit OOF but not so much that you can't get a general feel for what's going on anymore... and the lone reader enjoying a cup of coffee and a newspaper!

One of life's sweet pleasures to an old person, - hot drink in the morning, with no one to disturb. well caught.

A warm place in winter with a coffee and a paper. What bliss. The composition draws me into his cosy space.
I like the composition and soft tones in this. I get a bit carried away with the levels and contrast on my bw and youve shown me it isn't always the right way for me to go.

Nice composition and the bokeh balls on the upper right hand corner really does accentuate the overall feel on the image.

A thoughtful moment, Thomas.

A beautiful balance between the interior, slightly somber (to my eyes) interior and the glittering lights outside that seem very hopeful and inviting.

Hot chocolate sounds good.

I, too, applaud both your composition and your subtle use of black and white. A strong portrait and an image that probably all of us can relate to, even though we don't know this man in the picture.

you have caught a very good expression, (on the guys face), full of interest and character

the "soft effect" really works
