you know I always thought that they slept at night as they converted carbon dioxide to oxygen, (but's it's 45 years since I left school - so I could be wrong)
I was told it's a flower called "Lantana" and it releases it's sweet smelling scent only in the evening (it did smell nice when I was around) and it comes in various colours ranging from white, tones of yellow, pink, orange to dark red.
