SIJ - Day 27 The welcoming face of First
This is Clive, one of our local bus drivers and the husband of Mo (My favourite "barperson" day 25) waiting at Kingsbridge with the 09:15 from Dartmouth, departing Kingsbridge 10:30, arriving Plymouth 11:32. Clive has already done an early run Dartmouth-Kingsbridge-Dartmouth and after a layover at Plymouth brings the 12:50 departure from Plymouth arriving Dartmouth at 15:10.
This photograph need quite a bit of manipulation due to an overexposed background and underexposed interior, so when I told Mo at lunch time that I would have to do some improvements to the photograph before I could post it she expressed an interest as she said she'd been trying to improve Clive for years.

Clive looks to be a great fellow to me, Barrie!

You know these portraits and street portraits are going to make a wonderful collection. I don't know how you'd feel about it but I'd think your village would love to see an exhibition... Perhaps at your library even at the pub?

People love to see each other and their town's life. You've branched out so naturally, Barrie. I'm excited for you and so enjoy following along on your adventures.:th_salute:

Sorry Barrie there is little that I can say, that BB hasn't already. I've also make clear my thoughts on your people shots. They seem so natural to me, no contrivance and each of the subjects seems to remain engaged in h/er business irrespective of your petitions to take the photo and the act of taking it. You must have an uncanny knack of making them feel at ease.

I do like the light here I must say - and seeing Clive bathed in it's golden warmth - as well as the white railing that acts as a nice strong line leading us further into the bus.

But back to BB, another vote here for a Kingsbridge exhibition....at the pub maybe? (y)

Looking good Clive!

Good shot Barrie. I like your approach to street photography.

Mark is right on the money about how natural and relaxed your subjects look. And that's about the highest compliment you can give to a portraitist. Mo's comment has me giggling a bit. When will women give up and realize that we can't be "improved".

I really like this, Barrie. Your series is making me feel a part of the village in some way, I'm really enjoying it. BB nailed it in her comments and like Mark, I think you should be looking to do an exhibition for your locals :)

You've done a terrific job on the processing and the new and improved Clive is looking good.

the good naturalist becomes an unthreatening part of the local habitat ... there's something both fresh and timeless about these images ...

and I agree with BB, too, she says it bestest
