SIJ - Day 30

On the beach.

Just FYI, that white thing is a mooring buoy.

And I must apologize, I edited the picture very slightly and tried to not lose the two thoughtful comments from Mark and Antonio. This just shows you how insane I can be about tweaking my pictures ad nauseum. ;-)

I'll copy them here:

From Mark/stillshunter: ""Love the horizontal bands of colour here BB. From sky blue to sand brown at the base. As well as the minimalist "daub" of cloud, which reinforce the feeling of tranquillity. The only interruption being the squawk of a seagull (which I hear as I stare into this image)....seems they always have to be in on any seaside action."

And from Antonio/ajramirez: ""This is crazy good! Beautiful!"
You can actually replace an image without losing the comments. When you go into "Edit Photo" it gives you the option of uploading a new photo. If you do, it replaces the previous one without changing anything else or losing the comments.

I actually did do that, Antonio but it just hung and hung and I gave up. Fortunately I had yours and Mark's via email - and for that I am thankful!

Thanks so much, Sue!

Great beach scene, very peaceful with just a bit of drama added by the clouds. This almost looks like it was shot in the summer.

Yes, echoing comments already given... minimalist composition, with brown against deep blue... and then to a very, very light blue moving again towards the deeper blue as it moves up. The subtle clouds are actually very interesting. This is very serene and calm to me. Love it. If this was mine, I'd hang it.

If we are to be defined by a colour, then for BB it must be blue :), here expressed in calm serenity.

Those horizontal lines are exquisite. The colours subtle and beautiful, and that small white spot in the middle acts like a Star Trek tractor beam on my eyes!

Indeed this great photo is all about the horizontal lines. And where I'm normally very attracted to blues and greens, in this case it's the colour and particularly the texture of the sand that adds the final touch to this image... it just looks so tangible!
