An unsettling image - like the PP.

I had to look up Fritz Lang and Metroplis... I could, however sense something untoward, even without your backstory. Your choice of this high contrast appearance feels adds to the ominous feeling that you say you felt just standing there. Personally, I find faceless human forms to be disturbing...and these appear very robotic to me...and thus feel quite alien.
