SIJ 2015 - Day 2

SIJ 2015 - Day 2

Half Froze. 1/400 sec f/6.3 ISO200 and shot at 150mm.

Just wandering around our property and noticed the little creek that runs through part of it was frozen over. So I went down there and was looking around seeing if anything spoke to me, then I saw this little leaf half frozen. I took a couple different shots of this one and another leaf but in the end chose this because dark moody feel it kind of has. I promise you I didn't set out to make a theme of leaves haha.
I can see why you were drawn to this - and boy oh boy, does it look cold! Winter is settling in!
Wow, the focal plane here is razor thin! Amazing light playing on the water too...aint it great when your eye finds beauty in something so small?
Very neat close-up. I like how the ice looks like it's clinging to the leaf with all the individual strands of ice.
