SIJ - Day 03

Ricoh GXR Mount A12 - Zeiss ZM 35/2

I must resolve to do two things: stop shooting in the dark, and stop shooting in the rain. Oh, and no more motion studies. Wait, that's three things.

Never mind.

Knight Street, the main truck access to Vancouver from the south and our port. Somewhere in the dark here is our dog and me.

Five seconds, handheld, ISO200 and I believe I had the lens stopped all the way down (f/22 for this lens) to avoid picking up too much light from the streetlamps. I dialed down the exposure in post and used Silver Efex selective colorization to allow head and tail light colours through.

Since we are restricted to one lens and camera I figure this is a good time for me to take some approaches I normally go no where near, from time to time.

Hopefully day four will permit a brighter theme.
I must do one of these one day. I suppose I'll have to move somewhere there's traffic first though ...

Same. I have to do this too!...if I ever stay overnight in the city during January. And what a great example of light trails Mike!... especially the lake of white light in the mid-ground. And what's with those super high red-lights? Great processing too BTW!!!

I feel like I should do it too, for some reason I never have. and not 5 seconds handheld...whew!

Zoooooooooom!

Good for you, Mike, for going where you don't usually go! That's what I did today, too, photographically and it felt good.

y aknow, I think I like the bit of camera shake. I've seen a million of these from tripods and they're always pretty, but this one has a little something extra. The personal touch. Also, I know how hard it is to handhold for that long......cause I try it all the time myself. Tripods are too much work. So bravo!
