Last nightshift completed I took a leisurely cycle ride home and stopped by the boating lake on the way. Nice weather today. Early morning frost but the sun was shining bright and there was no breeze or clouds to be seen. Still cold though..
What a wonderful scene to come across, Norman! I love the running dog... Everyone is about their business and that dog's seems to be catching up with his master.
The more I look the more I see...like those geese marching off on the left.
Winter scenes look easy, but can be very hard to get right. There are three elements that make this stand out: firstly the man, who is striding purposefully. He is muffled against the cold but not bowed by it. Secondly the birds - they are indifferent to the man and the dog, in a world of their own. Thirdly the dog - the dog brings the picture to life and makes it tell a tale. The dog is in full motion, joyous, excited, but his attention is focussed not on the birds but on catching up to his master. I would have this shot on my wall. Bravo.
