First off, I have to say, "I HATE the beach". I don't like sand, but worse than that is the sun. I'm fair skinned and I burn easily, so I slather up with sunblock and just sit there and cook. But my wife loves it. And I love the sound of the crashing waves and watching the sea birds. And when there is a nice cool breeze and I can lie back and close my eyes (preferably under an umbrella), it can totally transport and revitalize you.
It's also pretty great for photography. So while it sounds like I'm complaining, I still had a pretty great time.
