SiJ15 - Day Fourteen

i realized last night I had not even picked up my camera. The light over our dining room was on (which it never is.....we use that room 3 or 4 times a year) and I thought it would be cool to try to shoot just the illuminated element leaving most everything else in shadow. Considering I just blasted off 4 quick shots and called it a night, I'm half satisfied with this one.

The more I'm doing this, the more I'm realizing that I'm not completely satisfied with any of them. Not sure if that means I'm getting better at evaluating what makes a good photo or points to the fact that I'm incapable of making one.
I like it, nice subtle shade of the lamp above the bulb. But I wonder how it would look in a vertical.

Well, I find this SiJ project pretty 'intense'. So maybe, after some distance from these photos when the month is over, you'll like your pictures better?

I agree it would work netter as a vertical. The other ones I shot were vertical, but all of them had a deeper DOF and showed reflections on the exterior of the bulb that were distracting.

I like it. Don't be so hard on yourself Luke. It's always a pleasure to look at your photographs.

I really like this shot. It has that simplistic solitary feel to it and the color with the reflection is cool.
