SiJ25 Tree vandalism.

We live in a duplex (one of two smaller units sharing a plot of land) and our neighbours recently changed. One of their first acts was to trim a tree we had planted years ago which has just reached flowering maturity. Not satisfied to prune they then decided to remove it until my wife (Rosemary) intervened at the 11th hour. At that stage all the side branches were removed leaving the tall. sad and spindly specimen in the photo.
It's funny your post is about cropped trees, I've just came home to find my husband has chopped down one of our trees in the back garden. What a shock! My garden does look bigger now though. So sad your tree has been chopped back in it's prime. I guess it's so close to their boundary there is a risk that its roots will damage their ... My brain is fuzzy after my night shift ... What do you call those brick driveways?? Mono blocks? I can see why they might have done it but you'd have thought they'd have discussed it with you first to get your agreement. Poor tree.

A bit rude, IMO. I have a neighbour who I am certain is poisoning my trees. Our houses are very close together and he chops (I wont use the word prune because he doesn't care what he does to the tree) anything that overhangs his yard. He has no gardens, no trees, no shrubs. Its just grass, and bare. Neighbours can be wonderful or horrid. Sounds like yours may prove to be the latter :(
