"Stand" by R.E.M.

"If wishes were trees / the trees would be falling..."

R.E.M. was one of my favorite bands growing up, and although this song has got a very bubblegum/pop sound I always thought the lyrics conveyed a sense of finding direction in life and growing up.

Anyway, if you haven't heard it before you should really check it out on YouTube, the video is even goofier than the song!

The first I see of "my" prompt, thanks. When I was in college, the early R.E.M. records were a huge hit. When Green came out, I was stunned at first, because next to the angst there also was regular pop. I didn't know what to think of it, but in the end, the layers in Stand always make me smile.
