Not really happy with the composition of this one, but the moment was right and it was the best I could do:-( Crouched, focused manually, fired and withdrew myself - didn't wan't to rain on that couple's parade.
I don't know, the composition seems to work pretty well IMO. The transition from blurred to focused pulls you in without the photographers in the foreground being too distracting.
Fin, I basically took what I wanted, in line with what you described. But I was so into getting the focus right quickly that I failed to pay the needed attention to composing. If only I took half a step more to the right, I would have ended with a very similar composition, but with a better arrangement of elements. The video camera wouldn't be "glued" to the bench and the girl adding light wouldn't be "growing" out of photographer's head. Everything would still be there, but more streamlined and with less clutter.
A lesson learned, hopefully
