Sony Showcase Sony A7 and 7r Image thread

Great body now, only going to get better. Great glass now and later. I'm happy enough with the camera as-is, and I *love* the FE55/1.8. The FE35 which I also own is a solid lens too, but I still have some "I wishes" about it. Not so with the FE55. I might replace the FE35 one day down the road...

Sony First trip out with the A7

My only wish is that the RX1's lens were available, or a close enough facsimile, on the A7/r cameras. The FE35/2.8 is a nice lens but it isn't nearly as nice as the RX1's although I've never owned the RX1 so I can only go by what I've seen from others. That RX1 lens has such a lovely nature...

Fuji It's a bit wet in Windsor too...

Wow. I have a rule about buying real estate... purchase on a hill, not at the bottom. Ok two rules, the other is never buy near a river. :)

James, helicoid adapters for Sony E mount to M lenses have been available for quite some time. The Hawk's Helicoid (available from the maker on eBay) was the first that I'm aware of. Some adapters or versions of adapters have issues. My early Hawk's I'm certain did not quite allow my lenses to...

Sony How Big Are the Sony FE Lenses Really?

I wish the FE35 was a stop faster and wouldn't care if it's a little bigger. The FE55 is compact enough and the bod and two lenses (or more) easily fit in my smallest go-light bag. Since my FE55 arrived I've not mounted the FE35 once. We are having a fling but it might last a while...

What's Your "Grab and Go" Camera?

I wish my phone were usable but it's crap. June 23rd next year I'll be replacing it, perhaps with photography in mind.

Really nice christilou. Love the colour in the first. I almost snagged a mint Elmarit 90 for a good price and, foolishly I think, let someone talk me out of it.

What's Your "Grab and Go" Camera?

Over the years... Contax 139 (film), folding Zeiss Ikonta (6x6 format, 120 roll film), Rollei 35TE (film, long time), Leica Minilux (film), NEX-5N then GXR/M now Sony A7r. I never considered the D800 a grab and go camera. The A7r is both grab and go as well as primary camera, the nirvana I've...

13 Pound House Ball by whiskyvictor, on Flickr Nikkor 50/1.4 @3200ISO no luminance noise removal, a little colour noise eliminated Does a 13 pound 10 pin ball (barely used here... we bowl 5 pin) count as a doo-dad? I need to mount my Distagon 28/2.8... I think its minimum focus distance...

Central sharpness in both lenses is pretty good but the FE35 will probably beat it. The Distagon 28 isn't as strong as the Sigma 35 is towards the edges; the FE35 for distance shots might be between the two. I need to shoot them more before coming to any firm conclusions; I have a Nikkor 28/2.8...
