  • Hey Brother: I just watched two DigitalRev films with Kai. One gave a pretty positive review of the Xpro 1 and then the next one compared the Xpro with the M9. That made me think of you. So how is it going with the M9? As I recall you were talking of using it more. Kai, and for that matter most of those that use it love the M9, except for the price. The reviews made me wish I had an M9 and wonder if I should reconsider the Xpro. What are you thinking these days? Christine's shots with the Pentax are interesting too, especially since I still have 3 fine Pentax Limited lenses. -Dan
Now that did give me a laugh. I have not pre-ordered a NEX7, so they won't arrive together. Maybe you will get the NEX7 first now. If the Fuji is great, perhaps that and the NEX5N will be my basic kit. One thing is sure. I will have to sell more stuff. I sure hope the new Fuji lives up to the hype and then some. The only lens they listed for pre-order is the 18mm, which is fine for now. :2thumbs:
Armanius, I just pre-ordered the Fuji XPro. Help me brother, for I am so weak. I said I would wait and see, but when B&H put up a pre-order option I dove in head first. This is why I have to believe in salvation by grace alone!

I had a NEX5 last summer and used it in Costa Rica, but then sold it. I'm glad I did because I like the 5N better. I know people complain about the interface of the NEX, and I do believe the GXR is better in this regard, nevertheless the NEX just takes some time to get used to it. The more I use it the less the interface bothers me. Every digital camera I have ever used has confounded me at one time or another working through menus. I now accept that as the price of entry. If we restrict ourselves to fewer brands and use them enough we will get along better with the menus. I would not be too quick to sell the M9. You might regret that later, especially if the GXR Mount does not suit you, and if the NEX7 continues to have trouble with the wide legacy glass. But I suspect (or hope) that the latter will be corrected by a Sony software update. I will let you know if I find a NEX7 in the US (after I buy it of course). :D
Armanius, you may have seen my entry in the A12 Mount page, that I am sending back the silver GX! which arrived today (Friday). After working with the GXR and the NEX 5N it occurred to me that the GX1 is superfluous. Those two systems are all I need for mirrorless cameras. By returning the GX! and lens I can now invest in the Zeiss 24 for the NEX system, and have it on hand when I finally get a NEX7. Blessings, Brother.
Armanius, I appreciated your contributions to the podcast. You are a true gear-head like me. Also I looked at your flicker page and liked your comment to the effect that some ugly things can be seen as beautiful, something like God sees us. :)
