Not sure whether one should buy one now, given the range of modern alternatives. But for those who own an M8 they still produce great images. For example, Matthew Osborne's work celebrated the M8's 10 year anniversary: Leica M8 – 10th Anniversary!

There were lots of rumors swirling before this announcement priming the audience, especially on SAR (e.g. the name of the camera would be A6100!). For my interest / curiosity, I was hoping for IBIS.

I use my various OM zuiko lenses on on an EM-5... I don't have a larger sensor ICL digital. But I still shoot OM-1 and OM-2

Can I ask of those using the contax g lenses which adapters they are using? I tried the metabones but found it very awkward to use. I even had some difficulty in keeping the lens secure in the adapter. Any experiences you can share would be helpful. Thanks.

Regarding use, this is a personal taste. Regarding resale value, that depends on relative supply and demand of the cameras. If the silver are perceived as more desirable (higher demand) and there are fewer about (more scarcity) then it will command a higher price. Also, it might depend on time...

I have the Oly 17mm 1.8 -- an excellent lens. You mentioned portrait so perhaps consider the Oly 45mm 1.8? I personally find it very high quality and more versatile than I'd originally anticipated. (I'm thinking too of adding the 25mm -- as fast standard normal)

Also.... And, in addition, I find that my DP1M sometimes resets the date/time if the batteries are taken out for a period of time (back to default 2012). Has this happened to anyone else?
