1600 is much better than 3200. 3200 is better than expected but 1600 has the amount of grain I like, and use. 3200 is a little too much for me.

No, I don't think it's any noisier. I have noticed that after switching it off it takes a little while before you can switch it back on again though - seemingly longer than the 3 but I haven't compared.
