Micro 4/3 Debating the Olympus 75mm VS Sigma 56mm

Owned both, they are both wonderful hunks of glass. I prefer the 56mm (112mme) focal length, simple as that. I always found the 45mm too short and while I would have been fine with the 75mm if the 56mm didn't exist, I'm glad it does. There is no question that the 75mm is one of the best, note...

Film People have asked, What was your first camera?

Some version of a Polaroid Land camera from the mid-1960's, or a Minolta-16 EE. I'm not sure which I was allowed to use first.

Micro 4/3 Wide angle Lawoa or ?

I had the Oly 8-25 and liked it a lot, more than the PL8-18 f/2.8-4/0 or Pan 7-14 f/4 I had before. I prefer an AF zoom in this range, but from the reviews that I have seen the PL 9mm would be my pick. Here one...

Just curious: your most fun DSLR to shoot?

One of the reasons I dumped all my Nikon gear when I closed my studio was, at the time, that I didn't think mirrorless AF could match what I had with my D800/D750. That way I wouldn't be tempted to do jobs on the side and I could say if (when) someone asked me I could say "sorry I sold all my...

Just curious: your most fun DSLR to shoot?

We do have Canon shooters here. But thinking about it, there was a group that left DPR and joined/formed the Nikon Cafe (well Amin started his sites as I recall) . Then many of us joined Amin's other sites over time. I'm not sure if there was something similar on the Canon side.

Just curious: your most fun DSLR to shoot?

How many x Nikon DSLR shooters can you have in one thread? Most fun/liked the best? It would be easy to go the opposite way, D7100 and D90 were by far my least favorite. But I will have to acknowledge I was shooting events when I had them, So I also had a D300, D700, and/or D600 during the...

GAS Considering a new system. Maybe Sony.

OK, things that went into my decision and what I’ve learned so far since my switch to Sony: Nikon: I'll start with the easy one. I shot Nikon for years and tried the Z5 a couple of years back and more so Z7II last year just felt natural. It's something IMHO Nikon did extremely well, a Nikon...

    Micro 4/3 New rumors

Sorry, I meant a portrait orientation. Ground-level portrait orientation, the flip out is easier on my knees and back.

    Micro 4/3 New rumors

My REAL preference is screens like the Fuji X-3/5 or Sony A7RV. Multi tilt. But I have gotten used to the foldout screens. Ask yourself the question, how often do you shoot portrait off angles? I shot them enough that I have learned to appreciate the option. Yes in most cases a simple...
