Doesn't look "unsharp" at all to me. I can see the lower contrast. Sometimes the DR400 can make things a little flat, which can happen in strong backlighting with DRauto selected. You can always massage the curves in post.
So far, very much. I started out using Speedlights, but they were way underpowered behind modifiers...especially outdoors. Picked up a Flashpoint 180 kit from Adorama for $200. Really good deal for what you get but no way are they putting out 180W in power...closer to the SB800 and the light...

Not a fan of neck straps. Find the camera constantly in the way and banging on stuff. If it sling it around to the side or back it is difficult to drag forward. My X-E1 hangs off a Gordy single lug mount shoulder strap.

If it kills the X-trans, the X-trans was never meant to live. I like the concept of offering both conventional and X-trans sensors. It might bring some people into the Fuji fold that otherwise resisted because of the sensor. It is probably less expensive for Fuji to buy commodity Sony...
Just picked up the X-A1. For green foliage there is no doubt it renders more detail. Likewise there are some other quirks of the X-trans it doesn't exhibit with regard to moire and fine colored detail. Having said that, on the typical shots I take, there isn't much of a difference. I like...
I just upgraded to firmware 2.0 and was blown away by how much faster and more reliable the focus is. Almost didn't think I needed an upgrade after that, but I'm really looking forward to the onboard phase detection for moving subjects.
