Advice Wanted I'm toying with the idea of travel one-handed camera, need opinions/user experience please

I own the GX9, a GM1 and an EP7. For what you describe, I would not hesitate using the GM1. Mine is wrapped in gun grip tape for a secure hold. I also have the 14-140, unbalanced on a GM. My usual lens is the 15. That combination is my default everyday carry and has served me very well over the...

    Micro 4/3 TTArtisan 23mm f1.4 or maybe a 25

For street I alternate between the PL15 and O25/1.8. Depends where Iā€™m going and how much reach I want. There are a lot of days and evenings where a 25 makes a lot more sense. I let shots come to me rather than chase them down. A bit of reach helps.

Micro 4/3 Panasonic or Olympus for starter travel camera

My 2 cents: The Fuji 18-55 (27-83 eq) is the same size weight as the P14-140 (28-280 eq). The rest of the Fuji line follows that comparison. Shooting both, I donā€™t take my Fuji's on holiday unless itā€™s an X100 only. For m43 I shoot mostly Panasonic but have an Oly EP7 and have shot the E-M5...

    Micro 4/3 f/4 8-25 Pro - A trap for the unwary!

I like it other than the weight. It and a quick normal would be a lovely combination for an urban holiday.

Micro 4/3 M43 users, what gear makes the M43 system stand out for you?

M4/3 (GX9, E-P7 & GM1) is my general purpose, street default carry. I get small, relatively inexpensive bodies, IBIS as I shoot primes and a lovely set of small high quality fast (f1.7ish) lenses that sacrifice little used wide. Though what brought me here was a better focused travel kit. I had...

    Fuji X-E1 vs X-E2 now?

I went XE1 to XT1 to XE2 + XP1. I sold the XT1 due to the ergos once firmware 4 was available for the XE2. I find the XE1 and XE2 are very different in speed of operation. When it matters, the XE2 by a wide margin. When I shot an XT1 and XE1 I used the XE1 for adapted only. The evf on the E2 is...

Fuji Shooting the XT-1 in bright sunlight

Also in South Florida. I have the evf set at +2 brightness. Added to Q menu for easy access. Use the large eyecup but with sun glasses. No issues. Without the +2 its an issue.

Fuji Have you received your X-T1 and what do you think?

I've had it for a week and used it a lot. For me coming from an xe1: Pros: Great evf. People whining about it washing out in bright daylight are suspect as far as I'm concerned. I live in Florida, its been pretty bright all week, I wear glasses when shooting, no wash out, nothing near it...

Fuji Help ex Nikon SLR users!

I think this is a matter of personal taste. Having shot Nikon for about 40 years, I can't recall a jpeg that can match what I get out of the Fuji's. If you want more pop, Velvia, adjust some of the jpeg settings.

    Fuji Are fuji lenses overpriced?

Do you want cheap(er) lenses? The current line does not include many entry level lenses. That's not to say what is available is overpriced. I think Fuji is doing a great job with its lens line. The price, is fine with me. I don't want to see a Sony approach where very few of their lenses can...

Fuji Fuji XT-1 - new top dog Fuji X or over-festooned retro?

Since the OP is looking for Fuji owner's thoughts, here's mine. I already have an X100 and xe1, 14, 18, 27, 35, 18-55 (my wife and I split the lens pool) and some legacy Nikon Ai lenses. I shot Nikon for over 30 years, expect to shoot a Fuji for decades as well. Endlessly jumping around from one...

Fuji Wintry days with the 18-55mm f/2.8-4: Best kit lens ever?

Very nice shots. You've discovered the lens is a killer night lens. Have one, use it very seldom as I shoot wide and prefer smaller primes. But its a superb moderate zoom, good execution by Fuji.

    Fuji X-PRO1 agony

Re xp2, if it happens its going to have to be a significant upgrade. I think with the longer zooms Fuji has introduced, the surprising to me, number of comments I read from xp1 shooters using mostly the evf and the number of those xp1 shooters adopting the xt1 system (especially pros using xp1's...

Fuji Problem accessing forum on iPad

This appears to be an iOS Safari issue. Safari opened on my iPad when I received a registration email from the site. The TapaTalk page opened. When I went to log in with my normal browser, Mercury, no TapaTalk page. Tried using OSX or iOS Safari as the user agent with Mercury and no problems. So...
