From memory , the first camera I bought with money from my paper run ( 1970 I think )was the usual suspect Kodak Instamatic. I remember buying the cubed flash bulbs for it .
the Nikonos is well designed to use underwater and feels good using it on land. An all metal body with a very good 35mm Nikkor lens . The V is aperture priority and full manual.
Well I didn't buy this , but kind a gent gave it to me on completion of a job I did for him. I used a Nikonos 111 when I used to dive. This Nikonos-v is in perfect condition. I might have to dust off the mask and fins again. Photo taken on HP5 pushed to 800.

I was invited to an amateur photo shoot on the weekend . Obviously there was the usual high end DSLR's. I turned up with my old Canon Sure Shot Owl loaded with HP5. I developed and showed a few pics to the group. They where amazed how well the little Canon performed .Here's a couple of pics .
