  • Decided to waste one B/W Polaroid to take a tripod selfie. The pic in hand, it looks very much like something my father would show me from 50 years ago. Instant nostalgy!
Had such a terrible stroll yesterday because I chose a 35mm as my weapon but simply couldn't get into the mindset at all. 95+% of the shots I saw were 50mm and longer.

Hang in there. I think it's good exercise to work with non preferred focal length. Enjoyed my challenging 21mm shots when I usually go for a min of 75mm!
Today I strolled for a bit with the 75mm lens. Was totally not in the mood for 75 right then. All scenes that I saw, were either 50 or 90 mm...
Nevermind what my content is, the CV Heliar 50 is simply breathtaking at rendering. If they could bottle this magic and make it work in 35 mm angle I'd explode in happiness.
How frustrating if you can't read digital LFI subscription on a big screen, only on mobile apps...
    This triangle drama! When I'm out with a 50, I wish I had my 35. When I'm out with my 35, I wish I had my 21. When I'm out with my 21, it's the 50 that I want.

I hope you are talking about lenses!!
As I am adamantly against Facebook and the like, I set up a private WordPress instance to share pics with family back home. They seem to dig it too, even if it's more cumbersome than a simple FB status update...
Looking carpets for my new apartment. Is it bad that I rank them by how they'd create sexy backdrops or interesting bokeh for my home images?

Not at all! :D Did you end up making a decision then on what pattern to go with?

Haven't made one yet, but a classic checkered pattern would help with checking for lens distortions... :ninja:
I thought that EVF was a perfect system to make sure you make the correct exposure. Yet after going back to OVF and the occasionally back to EVF I start to see how often it is my EVF exposure that's off by a stop and the OVF exposures are better... Hmm!

There is something liberating in being able to just apply your knowledge of the principles of exposure while using an OVF.

Yes. It is almost as if there's an aspect of craftmanship to the photography again!
Found a phrase "PASM buddies" and now waiting eagerly to use it in a sentence.

The idea is that if you pronounce PASM as a word, it's probably close enough to how you say "bosom". :) So a person who is a "PASM buddy" is someone who prefers the indirect PASM interface of a camera as opposed to direct controls.

First thing I think of is Assembly Language. If you really want a fast interface for a camera, code it all in Assembly Language. PASM- TI's assembler, also PIC assembler.

Ah yes, I haven't had the pleasure of using assembly languages. Quite content with the higher-level languages!
So Fuji's traditional spring announcement includes... only the XT30? Helps my GAS to be sure!
Updated my t3mujinpack film styles in darktable. Wow, what great big improvements in the pictures with some of the styles...
Started to browse pics I took not 3 years ago. How terrible! :) Excited how much I've improved over the years.
The more I think about it, the more it'd make sense for Fuji to "delay" the X100F successor by a year. Has that camera aged at all?

True, although if the next X100 has an f/1.4 lens, I'm jumping on it faster than you can say "I'd like to pre-order one please".
is browsing F/S posts... again. Shouldn't have! Now there's a Leica MP240 with my name on it and oh dear me
Longing to have an X100 once again. Big GAS. If Fuji releases something particularly nice in January, I may not be able to behave myself...
