    Fuji Zeiss Loxia

Well, the aperture ring is classically Zeiss. And given that they're manual focus lenses, the aperture ring makes even more sense. As far as video, they apparently can be declicked, which is good; but that feature for video is more relevant to Sony cameras than the Fuji X-line. No one's going to...

    Fuji Zeiss Loxia

The Loxia are full-frame lenses. I suspect that Zeiss will keep them full-frame and maintain the Touit line for cropped frame.

Fuji An interesting insight into the journey from DSLRs to Fuji X

He's not working with the most recent model and, for that reason, I think his thoughts may be a bit out of date. I've had the X100s for a little over a year and quite like it. I recently bought an X-T1 and have spend a pretty intensive couple weeks with it. My thought, when I was considering...

Fuji Dual Display Image for Manual Focus X-T1

OK, fine. I'm not going to get into a urinating contest about it. It's not what I would expect. It doesn't make logical sense to me. Good enough? I'm now done with this thread. I got the answer I needed. Thanks again, Bill.

Fuji Dual Display Image for Manual Focus X-T1

No, that's not what I'm saying at all. What I do expect; however, is that if I set the view to Dual Display on the rear LCD, that should carry through to the EVF when I put the camera up to my eye. That, to me, makes logical sense.

Fuji Should I do it? X100s

Can't speak to the AF speed of the Ricoh, but the X100s is, apparently, improved over the X100. That said, it is not all that fast relative to a good DSLR. It's OK, but not great. But, the X100s isn't a camera that's intended for quick action where fast AF is a plus. I use mine primarily for...

Fuji Dual Display Image for Manual Focus X-T1

Thanks, Bill. One of those wonderful Fuji quirks. :) The battery's charging at the moment but will try that later on.

Fuji Dual Display Image for Manual Focus X-T1

This is probably going to seem like a very stupid question, but I can't find the answer in the manual. In manual focus, there is supposed to be an option for a dual display image. I know the DISP/BACK button is used to engage the different viewfinder options. Using this button, I can get...

    Fuji Fuji X-Trans blown reds?

Reds are the easiest colour to blow out on any camera. It has to do with the distribution of pixels. There are only half as many red and blue as green. Red is a colour that is very common and makes up a part of other colours (e.g., yellow). If you're shooting JPEG, then reducing saturation...

    Fuji Aperture Flicker in Timelapse

With my Nikon cameras, I can slightly disengage the lens which will stop it down and lock it at the desired shooting aperture anf thus eliminate aperture flicker in timelapse vids. Has anyone experienced aperture flicker with any of the X-mount cameras/lenses (particularly the X-T1 & 10-24...

Fuji Will an ND filter solve the problem? Overblown skies are killing me.

The grad filtef in LR won't recover true blown out pixels. While the DR function innthe Fuji cameras is pretty good, I'm hesitant of using tools like these (Nikon has its Active D-Lighting, Canon has a highlight protection functiin as well) because what they essentially do is reduce exposure...

    Fuji ISO bracketing for HDR

ISO bracketing doesn't, as has been mentioned, give you the dynamic range extension that HDR is meant for. Now, if you like the result, then use it. But just remember that it's not giving you the real benefit of HDR.

Fuji FYI: re Photomatix processing and Lightroom with RAFs

What you're experiencing is true. You're better off - and HDRSoft, the makers of Photomatix, admit this, to do your RAW conversion outside of PM then feed the converted TIFFs into it. Doing the above, you can then use the batch function in PM. It's an extra step but the results are better...

Fuji Raw converter that finally does the X sensor justice?

I'm aware of the problems some people have reported in RAW conversion of the X-Trans images, including the chroma smearing, but I have to say I've not personally experienced any problems using LR/ACR. Colours and details are both very good in my case. Guess I'm lucky.

Fuji X100 settings for punchier JPEGs

Velvia. Doesn't get much punchier than that. If you're shooting RAW and using Adobe products for RAW conversion, you can always switch between profiles.
