    Sony New guy with questions....

Sony makes a semi hard protector. I've been using those since i've owned a NEX 7. I used to think they would not be necessary since I owned DSLRS before from the big two but Sony's LCDS are really easy to scratch. My NEX 7 got a minor but sometimes noticeable scratch (visible when you had a...

    Sony New guy with questions....

Agfa, Well done in getting an RX1. I see you are looking for accessories for it. I have quite a few and I can make a small write up for it: - Hood 1 (rectangular shape) there is one I highly recommend and thats the UNX 8118. It's a Japan import and it isnt necessarily cheap (I paid the...

    Sony show us your RX1

These days you can find an RX1 for maybe around $1500 or so on ebay. I got my second RX1 as an open box item from amazon in january for $2,000. I was lucky, but I was keeping an eye out for the opportunity. Keep an eye out. There is always someone that starts their auction at 0.99

    Sony show us your RX1

Haven't been here for a while. During my absence I ended up getting another RX1 as back up. Killer camera/lens. Cannot find a single more convincing combination anywhere with the lens, sensor and size combination. No, not an A7/r with a CV 35mm 1.2...the edges and corners are nowhere as good and...

Sony Sony Breaks New Ground with A7 / A7R Announcement

Ming Thein has not seen the obvious, hence why I don't think his thoughts are rational enough. The new A7/r cameras are not a threat to the RX1/r because, quite simply, there is no interchangeable lens (other than maybe the Sigma 35mm 1.4) that matches the Sonnar in the RX1. Also, no camera...

    Sony Buffering and SD Card

I imagine the 95mb/s cards are Sandisks. I use those. The 8gb type. That being said, there was an extensive research done on the usual Lexar vs Sandisk speeds. I can't find the link right now but the summary is: "different card brands and types perform differently depending on the camera" I...

    Sony Sony RX1 firmware update

This is true. Sony doesn't update software much. Then again, Fuji (which is seen as the example of firmware updates) updates often include things already found in Sony cameras (reliable AF, easier fly-by-wire MF, focus peaking) among other bug fixing updates. When I had a NEX 7, the biggest...

Sony How come the RX1 depreciates so much in value?

I haven't seen that many RX1's for $2k or less. Quite honestly, next time I am in the US I will hunt on ebay like a madman. Where did you find those $2k RX1s? I want a back up to mine.

    Sony Thumbs Up Grip options

I am not the DYI type of guy to do stuff like this. But, if anyone feels entrepreneurial, they should make a thumbs up with contacts to attach EVF on top. It should not be very complicated thing is one knows his way around these things. If you mass produce it, it will sell TONS especially...

    Sony Manual focusing

I would say: Like and SLR without any focusing aid (split screen or microprism) I understand your frustration with magnification only with focus peaking. I am really hoping Sony releases a firmware update to correct this and leave it as it is applied to all NEX cameras and even the RX100 (!)

    Sony Focus w/delayed shutter release

As it stands...no solution I can think of unless you were to place an object where you would be, then press the release, push the object away and take its place. Otherwise...you may want to buy a long cable release http://www.adorama.com/images/large/CZCR40.JPG They are inexpensive and...

    Sony Focus w/delayed shutter release

I believe you need to eliminate the things that could have gone wrong to find out: 1) If you use the camera, as usual, are your shots out of focus too? 2) When you are using the timer, by the time you have fully pressed the shutter (thus activating the timer) the camera would be pre-focused...

    Sony EVf speed

I have just tried my EVF and LCD on my RX1 for you. The black out on the LCD and EVF is the same. I just noticed this because I was curious as you asked. It is about half a second. However, you can continue to shoot as fast as your finger allows you to until the buffer gets full.
