Hi, everyone--thanks for the responses!
Bill--I appreciate the info on flashes. I have to admit that I'm lazy enough to be dependent on TTL flash; calculating flash exposures for a variety of (moving) subjects at a variety of distances is a bit too much for me. I'm looking forward to reading...
Hi, all--I'm only an occasional visitor to the forum, but I've been very happily using a pair of X-E1s for several years now.
Unfortunately I often need to leave the Fujis behind on trips with limited space, since I need to have a long telephoto and a macro setup with macro flash. Since Fuji...
Thanks, Kyle. That's interesting -- my Sony SLTs (that I use for macro and telephoto pictures that there aren't Fuji lenses for yet...) definitely set the shutter speed to the max sync speed when you switch on a flash while in aperture-priority mode. I'm pretty sure the m4/3 cameras I used to...
I have two X-E1s, and have noted that they behave oddly with flash compared to my non-Fuji cameras. I mostly shoot in aperture-priority mode. When I use a flash on most other cameras, the shutter speed automatically jumps up to the maximum flash-sync speed. With the X-E1s, though, the shutter...
Thanks! I've never had any Canon cameras myself, but I bought this FD 24mm to use on one of my Panasonics. As it turns out, it's much more useful to me on the X-E1.
This is the first day I've tried it, but so far I'm very happy with it. I'm not steady enough to use it as a true macro lens, but the sharpness and colors seem great--it's a nice 85mm-equivalent (almost) telephoto on the Fuji.
[edit] For the uses I have planned for the X-E1, I could probably...
Just a couple of test pictures...links below each go to full-resolution versions.
Test 1 -- X-E1 + Micro-Nikkor 55mm @ f/5.6 (and yes, the ground really was sloping that much. :) )
Test 2 -- X-E1 + Micro-Nikkor 55mm @ f/8
Sort of an odd image to post, but it seemed like a good lens test. I'm pretty happy with how this 24mm works on the X-E1.
Construction - X-E1 + Canon FD 24mm f/2.8 @ f/8, focused on the "No Parking" sign
Not yet, but I can try it. But there's no sign of flare around the edges.
I'm trying more test pictures to see if this is a consistent problem, or if it was a fluke. I've only done a few so far, but I'm not seeing a consistent one-stop overexposure yet.
