I've never used the Sigma, but I'm quite happy with my Fuji 70-300 plus 1.4 TC (on X-T5). I don't think the Sigma is teleconverter-compatible. I considered the Fuji 100-400, but decided on smaller and lighter with the 70-300.

Backing up the settings is my normal first step before doing any firmware upgrades. Probably won't help for lost date/time, but will hopefully ensure that other settings can be restored post-upgrade when necessary.
