Very nice. Reminds me of something that happened at work last week.

A colleague, Kevin, knows I'm into photography so he was telling me about this photographer he used to like, some guy called Mapplethorpe who took amazing photos of flowers in vases. When he got back to his desk he got on to the workplace chat system and sent me a link to some photos. I was quite pleasantly surprised by how good those photos were. Then I scrolled down the page and ... there were also photos of very naked men. Nude photography in the name of art, but still ... naked men.

I sent him a message back: "There are private parts 'n things!!!"

Except.... I accidentally typed that message into the wrong chat screen, I typed it into the main chat screen where I was working on a project with a bunch of other colleagues.

The main chat screen went quiet.

I was caps-locking to Kevin in the other chat screen: "HOW DO I EXPLAIN THIS ONE??"

He was allegedly too busy laughing at his desk to come up with anything.

Kevin explained Mapplethorpe was a famously gay photographer who liked taking photos of flowers and naked men. He saw a documentary of Mapplethorpe but was very disappointed when he saw how he worked. Apparently he had an assistant who would load up his camera with film, then Mapplethorpe would shutter the hell out of the entire roll of film within the space of 5 seconds, two feet away from the flowers. Then the assistant would hand him another loaded camera and it'd be another CLICK-CLICK-CLICK-CLICK-CLICK-CLICK in 5 seconds. And so on. Kevin joked that if he took a hundred photos of the flowers like that, he's positive that he could produce at least one great shot out of the pile too.

Kyle, you are obviously traveling, that's not Minnesota.

We did a little road trip down to Hilton Head Island, SC. Good times, but my wife wasn't up for adding 5 hours to the trip for serious country road driving. :D

Kyle, your mansion brought to mind Clarence Laughlin. Thanks, I hadn't looked at his pictures in a long time.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Clarence Laughlin... some cool stuff!
