I got nothin'. Just thought I would start the thread with it
I've often noticed that I can see the moon through the skylights in the sunroom/computer room. Somehow, until tonight, I never caught it when it was closer to the horizon and bigger. I removed a window screen a few days ago to facilitate shooting from up here, but note to self - before you crank open a window, first lock up every cat in the house, even the one downstairs!
Don't look too closely at the moon! I took a series of shots, in the course of which the moon moved away from the trees. I instinctively raised the exposure, and all that achieved was chromatic aberration, and then I moved back down and finally got some detail on the moon. Then I copied the detailed moon, dropped it into the blown-out white sphere, and erased edges until the paste job didn't look crude. Still, I learned a lot about the new compact, most importantly how the manual focus works on the thing!
