Leica Showcase Leica M Monochrom

Yeah, real filters eliminate the light, but you get all of the pixels. This is part of what makes the Monochrom such an incredible tool. There is also so much detail left in the shadows.

The more I use this camera, the more I fall in love with it.

Dave- those shots have a real three-D look to them. When looking at some of my images from the Monochrom- Nikki remarked that it was like looking into the picture. I've noticed this myself.

Thanks Brian. I kinda notice it especially shooting wide open. I never thought of shooting at this F number back in the DSLR days. Something about the rendering of the Cron I guess?

Nikki must have good photographic eyes, or it runs in the blood/family? Cheers!

I find since my switch to Leica that I'm almost always shooting wide-open except in the rare instance when I want more depth of field. Then again, I've become a real bokeh fanatic since I rediscovered photography a few years ago.

The only lens I miss from my DSLR kit is the Minolta Maxxum 85mm f/1.4. Now THAT was a serious cream-machine.

Took a little walk around the block before work this morning with my M Monochrom and Jupiter 3 (+ yellow filter). Set the camera for ISO 5000 last night for some shots and forgot to decrease ISO this morning as the light improved. Oh well, quality is still excellent even in the ISO stratosphere.
