A very familiar site. I do that drive FREQUENTLY, though I'm lucky and get to turn right at Barstow.
You're lucky because there must be plenty of scenes to be photographed. Love that region between Nevada and California. Also I was fascinated by the solar farm. Wow, out of this world scape that I would have loved to be able to photograph from close distances. Have you ever tried doing that? Is it permitted to walk around that area?

I posted a series of shots at was was once a gas station and either a bar or restaurant on Clay Mine Road, north of Edwards Air Force Base.
Still a gas station we stopped there to fill. Lovely place and look like there are plenary of very small towns in that area that next time I'll be visiting for sire
