Leica M10 Looks really good.

Well....that is a good one. When you are playing around with lenses, like a Sonnar or any of the miyazaki made lenses like Sonnetars, Perars etc......really good to have live view to dial them in. At least need an LCD and it helps to have a great EVF. Otherwise, a lot of prolonged testing to get the performance you paid for.

I shoot my Brian Sweeney Special 5cm f/1.5 Sonnar all the time on film and digital without chimping (especially now that I have the M-D).

Once you know your lens all is good.

To me the M5 is pure p****...to quote Richard Pryor when describing a Jaguar XK in none of those movies with Gene Wilder.

EVERY lesson they learned since the M3, all rolled into one. Sadly, they were forced to regress a generation when the public stayed away. Remember though, the public is not necessarily smart, as many of them voted for Trump after all.

We can't go there.......besides it is good business for you.

With respect to the M5 or any technology , timing is key. A Leicaflex SL is not a great camera 8-10 years after the intro to Nikon F, although it is a great camera.

Apple is a bit behind the eight ball in a non M5 way......they are not innovating and producing at athe rate they used to ....Not throwing out radically different technologies that we have to acquire even though we don't know it yet. Fuji has a nice blend of innovation and incremental improvements, almost like they are listening to their base.

It's kind of odd that the Darkroom and Ilford lab California both in San Clemente. I wonder if Ilford farms your stuff out to the Darkroom?

No idea, but turnaround was very fast and quality was excellent. A little more expensive than North Coast Photo, but much faster and just as good.

That's good to know, I tend to shoot Ilford, especially XP2. For color I use Portra most of the time. Do you acquire their 12mP or lesser resolution scans?

"Give a Peak at the F2"...

Looking at Film Nikon cameras: the Df seems huge. I hope Nikon takes a lesson from Leica and comes out with an even smaller Df.

This next shot taken with a Nikon E3 DSLR from the 90s that makes EVERY modern digital camera look small. 1280x1000 resolution, used a relay lens to squeeze a full-frame image onto a small CCD.

Nikon SP, Wordstar, and Assembly. All in one shot.

Brian, what year is that F2?

I think that one is from 1975. I have two black, with DE1.

EDIT: The F2 as shown is from 1974. I have another just like it from 1972. The 1975 "Mint-Black" currently has a late DP-1 finder on it. Also have a 1977 Black with a DP-12 on it.

I have F2's from 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, and 1980... Ten or so? Two are from the first production batch of 1600 cameras. The wind tip is metal, not plastic on those two- and they have the leatherette grain of the F and SP.

Even this ...did not cure my NIkon F fever.

Great finder, match the needle, kind of a spotmeter...sort of....could use some additional sensitivity (SL2 but no biggie), tank construction, battery independent. Yes, the 60 is great and a lot of folks use on their digital rigs. I bought the 50 first....it's great too. ONce you get away from these focal lengths with R lenses......price escalates rapidly.
People ruin these things with the Leitaxing.....although to be fair it is completely reversible and they send you the cams after removal.

Wished they have the 1/8000th shutter similar to the M8. Can't have them all I guess.

Between a faster shutter and a quieter shutter, I would choose the quieter shutter every time, but it's important for the work I do. I suppose there are two ways to deal with a 1/4000 shutter - either use an ND filter, or stop down a step or two. But with the sound, you can't do anything about it if you need a quieter shutter unless you come up with a home made solution yourself, and I'm not that great with DIY. Nor would I want to use an M in a box.
