That is beautiful- the clouds coming in over the mountains.

We have the Shenandoah mountains near us, "Skyline Drive". I think you would like to visit it, if you ever get to the East coast.

I remember Taiwan as a young teen. Humidity, hot, and ... perhaps a bamboo-type smell? Really nice, engaging people. They always had something fun planned for my family's evenings ...

Mostly Taipei and a smaller city. A few nights at a coastal resort - I still remember that was something. One of the few places that had air conditioning. Elsewhere, our hosts would advise, "Not Coke: drink warm tea to cool-off."

We tried many things while there, but I could not bring myself to eat a "100-year-old-egg." We kidded that those were produced by leaving them in Taipei traffic. Enough to age anything 100 years in a day! :roflmao:

Yes. Still we don't really suggest people drink coke even in hot summer days for healthy reason, however, younger generations are different. I guess that Taiwan has changed a lot especially Taipei where I don't really like it. I meant big city. I live in a small city, Hsinchu, where I considered to be a well functioning place to dwell. Not too big not too small. I go with my scooter. The picture I took is taitung, east of Taiwan. The county grow the best rice ever. Taiwan always welcome you.

I don't eat the egg either but I love stinky tofu.

I stayed in Taiwan for 3 months back in 85 when I was quite a young lad starting out in life. In my last job dealing with supply chain, I was in Taiwan once a year but most of my visit was for 2 days max and usually at Taichung. My last visit was in 2013. Here is one picture I took with the X-E1 at Sun Moon Lake.

It is a beautiful place, isn't it? I had so much fun there when I was young. There was a god of matchmaker in the middle of lake. So delightful to know that people around the world been to Taiwan. Once again. Taiwan welcomes you.

Yes, it is a beautiful place. The hotels there are also top notch. My first stay there was at The Lalu and the 2nd time was at the Fleur de Chine Hotel where I took the picture. Both are magnificent with awesome view. I am not sure why they call the lake Sun Moon as both time I was there, it was foggy :)

The name was decided by its geographic location. The shape of west side looks like the sun and the east looks like the moon
