Presumably that's shot with a leaf shutter. In which case, I can't think of a better example to showcase its benefit. Everyone talks about that feature (and we can all do that), but you have instead provided a perfect practical example. We should all be thanking you.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes shot with leaf shutter :) it was fairly bright out and I enabled the ND filter, set the shutter speed to 1/4000 and then used the built in flash on the X100f with -2/3 TTL to expose.
To soften the flash a little I got a small glass, put a white napkin in front and just shot. My friend was just talking with another friend while I was setting up my makeshift studio!
Leaf shutters rock!

My daughter has taken a liking to my old original X100. I couldn't be happier. We went to a speaking event last night that my wife was presenting at, and my daughter managed to get these shots...

This is me explaining how to half-press-and-drag:

A friend departing, she even panned with him and got him in focus.

Looks like she's a natural Dad, I know your happy and proud:bravo-009:. My youngest daughter watched me while growing up. In college she took a B&W Photography course and worked in the Darkroom. The hook was set and she hardly goes anywhere without a camera. I gave her my D7200 kit last year and she still has her old Nikon FM. Managing light seems so natural to her, I'm proud and a bit jealous at the same time.:D

Between this and the kid-sized guitar she found used for $14 yesterday, we're going to have a ton of things to dig into together. And as a side note, I'm a little more than jealous that, at 7, she gets to use an X100. When I was 7, I took my hard-earned allowance money and bought a Kodak 110 camera at a yard sale. I still have some of those prints, which is cool, but ... man, what a better tool the X100 is to use.
