With some early low sun it was easy this morning.

Autumn Fruits

A shot taken in the Orchard just a short walk from my front door, indeed out of focus in the background on the right is the cottage I'm currently living in. I couldn't repeat this shot, not least because I've picked some of the apples :D

Went for lunch at a local ramen noodle place. It was there that I struck up a conversation with this young lady about her t-shirt. I had remarked that she must be a basketball fan. She told me she doesn't really care about sports, and was wearing the t-shirt only because it supports the city team. She is the order taker and cashier and her name is Luz. She gave us a great smile for SIO Day 3!

The RF70 isn't a bad street camera at all :) It's, of course, conspicuous to the point of being ominous, but somehow, people accept it. And what's more, you can take the image, walk away and have the camera wind it out later; that's actually great for candid shots.

What's less fun is the fact that the IRIScan produces extremely contrasty, but also very dark images when used stand-alone, so I actually had to do a bit of post on this day's very moody image, using XnView (which is surprisingly full featured and well up to such a simple tast - I wanted to keep it to a necessary minimum); this is from the platform at Hackerbrücke station near one of the main entrances of Oktoberfest in Munich. I happened to have to take the train to my parent's place from that station; in spite from it being only late afternoon, it was thronged (I went almost to the far end of the platform to take this - and still, I ended up being almost photobombed).

The shot still looks a lot better "in the flesh" - I have to look into scanning even further (maybe I can train VueScan to use the IRIScan ... should be worth a try).
