Picture chosen as Cover for Sierra Club Daily E-Newsletter

This picture taken on Sept 13th was just chosen as the cover photo for an upcoming issue of The Daily Ray of Hope, an e-newsletter for the Sierra Club. This is a FIRST for me. :D

Yes..pic taken in IA on LX5 late afternoon light. Sorry you missed good light during your trip. We did a bunch of stuff earlier in the day, saving late afternoon for our trip into the park to take pics.

The pic above is great..can hardly tell it's a reflection except for the signs in the upper top of the pic.

LX5 Passing the test fer sure.

Color but it's cool...

B&W

Both files from Raw. Converted in Nik Software.
Notice the lack of flare from the back lighting. Impressive.
The B&W has grain added to it. I don't care about the technical stuff, I just want the camera to be able to give me what I want....so far it does.

Having just read Amin's review, I'm quite impressed at the different options this camera offers regarding the controls. Sounds good.

Hmm, maybe someday I'll be a two serious compacts owner.;)

Hollywood, L.A. LX-5.
PP consist of cropping and resizing only. Otherwise as shot.

Great shots Javier. Amazed there's still one cop left in the world willing to have his picture taken. I think you need to start exporting your quirky citizens around the world so the rest of us have something to shoot.

These really are 'cracking' good pics from what is compared to the Leica a reasonably priced camera; I think the Leica Dux is overpriced.
I think if I had had the foresight to wait a few months I would have definitely considered the LX5 instead of the Oly Ep- as I think BB said..
However its fine to be wise after the event:(

cheers, penny

A bit late, but congratulations, Karen! I enjoyed looking through all of your Yosemite photos on flickr. I hope to go back to that part of the country soon. There's just not much to see around here.

This isn't my photo, so I'll just link to it, but it's taken with a Leica D-Lux 4.
