Gear Porn

I'm in gear limbo. I really want to consolidate to one system, but going either way will disrupt my perfect balance! Being a photographic gear-head obsessed with covering all the bases is real! :roflmao::cautious::(

I seriously thought jumping to a7III camp with adapters and forget everything else. I then later waked up, sweaty and difficult to breathe

But for real, I think Sony a7III could be my one camera. But it is too difficult emotional decision, so I'll stick with what I got until... need to give room for other things and get rid off extra gear in camera cabin or need cashing my gear. I hope that day will never come, but never say never.

If manual lenses is your thing, I believe Sony is better in that regards and it mainly deals with how Sony maintains a smooth frame rate in magnify view, while Nikon Z magnified view slows down the frame rate becoming choppy. Also Sony has the best focus peaking by far, requiring you to reduce intensity to either mid or low since it picks the contrast/sharpness details so well. Saying that, I don't really love Sony ergonomics, even after purchasing a grip for it. It's not my favorite camera to hold!

Jonathon, with a Z camera you could easily adapt both Nikon F mount and Sony lenses!

I tried the Techart TZE-01 adapter and while it was decent, I think I'd rather stick to native Z lenses or at least adapting F mount glass onto a Z6/Z7. Also I feel it's a bit overkill to add a Z body for just adapting F-mount glass when I can just pick up another D750 which still focuses faster than adapting lenses with the FTZ. Saying that, the recent firmware 3.0 has really made the Z6/Z7 solid cameras, the eye-AF has improved nicely and has become more accurate. Heck, I'll probably pick up a Z6 once prices drop even lower. :D

You are serious then with the new Nikon Z-system 🧐
For the present time yep, of course the Z system is not perfect, what camera is? FF was calling me because the limitations with regard to manipulation and cropping of the mu43 sensor!
The quality of the optics just shouts!
Matero it has not been the cheap option, but I’m sanguine about that, nobody told me this was inexpensive hobby! (y)
