Film But Really, Which Film Rangefinder Should I Try?

Mechanical fixed lens rangefinder with shutter priority (with battery), Olympus 35RC would be a cheap intro. Minolta Hi-Matics? there are lots and will give you a good idea if you want to go down this road with interchangeable lenses. Then there is a the medium format folders with coupled...

    Film Minimalist Monobath Development Workflow?

My local dump takes the fixer which is full of silver once used. They have a hazards section where they also take paint, fire extinguishers etc. The developer (Xtol) I use is fairly harmless and can be dumped down the drain, saying that I wouldn't put something like rodinal down the drain, and...

Film For those who still shoot film and want to develop at home....

Always good to see new products being launched. I still like XTOL for general B&W which is $10 for 6 months worth or 40+ rolls and tf-5 for the fixer. I have been using Unicolor powder kits for color but haven't shot much color in the past year.

My walk with the dog today. Armed with a Olympus Em5ii and Tokina 300mm f5.6 in FD mount I picked up for $40 a few years ago. It's certainly a challenge to get results from this lens. The gopher snake was the only pic not taken with a native lens (45mm)

Film What FILM (!) photography related item did you buy this week?

Thats something I'm still trying to figure out. I generally dust them off with a vinyl record brush to clean it up. I have to do a better job at removing all the dirt before hand. There was almost no post work done to these photos.

I'm sure they are a dime a dozen. Its zone focus but a nice 2.8 tessar should produce decent pics.

The most fun part of film photography! Have fun,I have a very small darkroom and enjoy printing out my fav photos from each roll and hanging them up. Just in small 5x7 or the odd 8x10. Neither printing or developing film requires running water but it does make it easier. I currently do...

Film What FILM (!) photography related item did you buy this week?

In an effort to simplify my film kit I purchased a Minolta 24-85 zoom and a Maxxum 5. I already have a Minolta Maxxum 7 but the weight and features of the 5 will make it perfect for travel. The 5 shares the same auto focus system as the 7. I sold both my Mamiya 6's and all 3 lenses. Next maybe...

    Hi Camerades

I get where you are coming from. My "most interesting" really don't rate high on my personal radar. I'm convinced my favorites have very small appeal to the general population. The photo I wish I really got right was I took this before I got the rangefinder aligned, and as a result the focus...

    Hi Camerades

Its a real exhibit! No manipulation done. It was in the middle of the day outside with no cloud cover, the B&W treatment hid a lot of sins. Thanks for the compliments on "Timeless" and "Point Reyes", they were fun at the time but not the direction I'm going these days.
