Ordered the last of the Nikkor Manual Focus lenses I've been wanting - an AI Converted Nikkor N 24/2.8 that will be a nice 35 eq on my D7100. Just trying to decide if I want to stay with Capture One Express or pay for the Pro version and then, rent or own? Hmm...

    The eternal 35-vs-50 war

My first camera was an AE-1P with the classic Canon 50/1.8 SC lens and I've been a 50 (aka Normal depending on format) shooter by preference since. 28 ~ 35 slightly wide is good and I like to have it (last lens I "need" for my D7100 is a 24/2.8 to give me that 35 fov since there are times when...

Picked up a very nice Nippon Kogaku Nikkor Q 135/3.5 that had been AI'd. Only $39 with hood and caps. Screaming deal on a great old Sonnar. Looking forward to using it. As an additional bonus, the hood will also fit the 105/2.5 Sonnar I recently bought and have off getting AI'd. Sweet!

Pulled the trigger on a Nikkor Q 135/3.5 Sonnar today and mailed out the Nikkor P 105/2.5 Sonnar for AI conversion. That'll take care of that end. Now I just need to find an AI-P 45/2.8 I can actually afford to cover the Tessar formula :drinks:

If I could make the jump, I plan on getting matte frames and simply providing them that way. The buyer would have to frame them beyond that. Makes them less expensive and easier for tourists to take home.

I have an expensive new lust: Epson just announced the P900 printer. 17", roll paper support, better inks, etc. Everything I need to start making prints of my landscapes to sell when the tourist trade comes back. 30 % smaller too so it would actually fit my desk...

I have two new to me lenses on the way: first a wide angle - 20mm that is 30mm equivalent on my DX cameras And then an example of the classic Nikkor portrait lens, a 105mm f/2.5 in the older Sonnar formulation. It'll turn around right away once it gets here to go to Jon White's AIConversion...

Well looks like there's another camera on the way...:coco: I am quite happy with the pictures from my D3200 but wanted a little more ease of handling manual focus and AF/AF-D type autofocus lenses as well as two dials for use in manual mode. It and the D7200 are the best two DX bodies...

Oy. So I asked BrianS what a good mechanical Nikon would be. He tells me. I think, that's good to know for when I have a toy money budget again. Wonder how much they cost. Oh my, there's one on EPrey. 6 hours left and NO BIDS. New Seals. Film tested. Pre-AI 50/1.4 included. $40. I bid the...

    Personal gear review

Essentially this is what I've been up to since the fall. Around my birthday (late September) I realized that I was hardly ever using my E-P3 camera. The EVF was cracked and near to breaking. I can't stand to use compose on a screen (unless the view is upside down and reversed while under a...

I've been wanting to shoot film again and though I am happy to develop, I've never been fond of darkroom printing. So I have a new to me Epson V500 scanner. Now to buy the film holders and get an updated copy of Silverfast :)

Serious desire: add a Nikon D7200 body and an 45/2.8 AI-P lens Not serious but would be fun as bleeping: add a Nikon Df body and the same lens
