Not sure what you mean by birthday's... wait, as I type this... did you guys see just the current birthday's widget in the sidebar and nothing else? If that answer is "Yes" then I think I know what may be going on and will fix it Friday evening when I'm back online. Because of a muscle knot in...

a grim story about climate change in the US (with some great photos)

I just find it shocking how much of the world has gone backwards and, in 2020, is actually rejecting science. It's like somebody flipped a switch and half of the population has a mindset from 500 years ago. Seeing interviews in the US news lately it's getting harder to tell which ones are...

Announcement Site Updates Coming: Editor Toolbar

I know the last time we talked about site updates it was pretty big that involved a major update of the site software. This time it's nothing that big but a few changes are coming sometime in the next few weeks. Most of the changes will be minor or behind-the-scenes stuff and, really, likely...

It's late on a Sunday night before a holiday here in the US so I'm taking advantage of the slow period to do a little maintenance on the home page. If you see anything weird on the front page for a bit, it'll just be temporary. :)

It's one of those weeks where every day I've been on conference calls nearly the entire work day while try to keep up with my normal responsibilities. In the background I've got The Go-Go's documentary playing and came across a version of 'Our Lips are Sealed' that I hadn't heard before...

SanDisk 1TB microSDXC card at Amazon for $233 😲

In my case my backup concerns are really the family photos & scanned images. Over the years as family members learned that I'm "into cameras & stuff" it seems that I have become the designated gate keeper of the family photos. It used to be worse, for years I was the extended family tech...

SanDisk 1TB microSDXC card at Amazon for $233 😲

Back in the day I'd spend hours typing code into my C= 64 & VIC-20 from magazines and then hoping that the power didn't go out for the next few days. I was so happy when I got a C= 1530 tape drive; by the time I got a C= 1541 disk drive I was a pretty good touch typist. 🤣 Here at the house I...

Normally $449, it's temporarily down to $233! 😲 Jeez, I'm getting old.... 1TB memory cards when I still remember paying close to 4 figures for a 5.25" full-height 5MB hard-drive. I'm sorta' tempted to pick one up just to add to the collection of redundant backup places. SanDisk 1TB Extreme...

Feedback forum slow and/or unable to get pages to load?

It depends on a number of factors but it's significant enough that for members on slow connections visiting while there's a large number of hits to the box and they are viewing threads with a large amount of images, I'll be most likely changing the logic at some point so that members will need...

Fuji to Produce Covid19 Vaccine in US

Feedback forum slow and/or unable to get pages to load?

It's the trade-off of allowing lots of attachments in a thread with large resolutions and file sizes. The alternatives would be to reduce the max dimensions and max file size causing files to be resized (which could affect image quality even further) or enforce that images be inserted into...

Feedback Vote! "Unread" counts, leave them or remove them? 🤔

I'm actually surprised at the number of "Remove Them" votes. Considering that we don't display ads or other annoying content, having a number shown on the screen is pretty innocuous not affecting anything. 😕 But at least there's still things in life that surprise me after all these years. :)

It'll never be lower than the initial screen load would be a better statement. Upon the initial screen load the "Cameraderie" logo is shown with the menu bar below it; when the page loads the logo disappears and the menu bar becomes 'sticky' at the top. The end result is that the menu will...
