    Micro 4/3 Olympus E-PM1 Picture - from 43 rumors

I used to be excited about Olympus cameras till I realized that I use all Panny lenses with my E-PL1. I pre ordered the G3 and my PL1 will become a dedicated Pinwide camera. For me the G3 with the built in EVF, swivel screen appears to be a home run.

Sony Noktor 50mm f/0.95 for NEX coming soon!

The Noktor is just a re branded CCTV lens. Definitely not worth the price they are asking. You NEX guys are better off waiting for a Voigtander, if they ever put one out.

    Invitation: Pinhole photography

There is no need for the Pinwide guys to offer a cap with a glass cover. The hole in the cap is very small, only a few microns wide. You'd have to leave it on probably for weeks before dust got through that tiny hole. You get more dust into the body from changing lenses.

    Feedback Images in signature

the issue of sig's that are too large is taken care of by limiting the signature image size. actually a site like this one, there really isn't a need to allow it anyway.

Compact Cameras and the Threat of Camera Phones

He gives pretty strong evidence that smart phones are taking over the cheap point and shoot market, then follows it up with examples that people that use smartphones really don't care about lol The second line of his article pretty much says it all. "This comes from the announcement that the...

Compact Cameras and the Threat of Camera Phones

Because no one will buy it. There was a phone that the back side looked like the front of a point and shoot camera - same big lens. I can't remember who made it but it bombed. I think the other reason why a phone like that will never come out is because the market segment of consumers that...

Sony New Zeiss mounts for NEX cameras

Nice adapter but they are for the pro video $4000 Compact Prime CP.2 lenses. If I could afford to buy at lens at that price I'd be shooting with an M9.

Compact Cameras and the Threat of Camera Phones

The days of the low end point and shoot digital camera are numbered. It has been replaced by the camera phone. Especially now since the "standard" price for a smart phone has become $199. I was recently at my kid's little league opening day, there were about 2 or 3000 people there. I saw more...

Photography books worth your time - the visual language of photography

Any Irving Penn book. Unfortunately they are all out of print and exspensive. Penn was the master, hands down. I always find Michael Kenna inspirational as well. Amazon.com: Michael Kenna: A 20 Year Retrospective (9781590050194): Michael Kenna: Books Amazon.com: Le Notre's Gardens...
