No problem at all, the evf was easy to use.

Fuji Showcase SLR Magic 23mm f/1.7 Hyperprime

Here is a shot of my camera with the 23mm attached. The hood is a metal 49mm screw on type for a pentax takumar 35mm. There isn't any vignetting when attached and it helps to cut down the flare I get when shooting IR.

Fuji Showcase Fujifilm XF 55-200 f/3.5-4.8 OIS LM

Here are some photos from the new 55-200. Didn't get to shoot as many birds as I wanted and I got rained out just as a group of red winged blackbirds were getting comfortable with me. Did get to try out the close focus abilities of the lens and I think for larger flying insects like butterflies...

Starting to ship in Canada, got mine today. Hopefully I will get a chance to use it this weekend if I don't get completely rained out.

Fuji *Turn 360°* Kipon Tilt & Shift Adapter - Who knows something?

Here are some samples I shot with the adapter and my Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 AIS lens. First up an example of a straight shot at f/2.0 Next I tilted the lens via adapter to get the focus plane to form a wedge of focus in the scene. Still at f/2.0 If I had been shooting at f/4 or 5.6 most of the...

Fuji *Turn 360°* Kipon Tilt & Shift Adapter - Who knows something?

Received my adapter today. Built really well. Very solid. Getting it on and clicked into place was tricky as the rotating base kept turning on me until I found a suitable technique. The clearance between the lens release button and the base of the adapter is tight. Taking the adapter off the...

    Fuji Tell me about Zeiss

I've shot with and owned quite a few Zeiss lenses (I currently own two 25mm f/2 and 100mm f/2) and the Zeiss lenses have always been built well and had exceedingly good optical properties. Beyond that the Zeiss lenses have a certain character to the look of the photo they produce some people...

Fuji Showcase SLR Magic 23mm f/1.7 Hyperprime

Got my SLR Magic 23mm f/1.7 this week. Pros: -built very solid (almost Leica M level of build quality) -smooth turning focusing and aperture rings -short but precise focusing throw from infinity to 4ft allows for quick MF at regular distances with enough dampening in the ring for good precision...

    Fuji Macro lens options?

Last one I sold used in my shop was under $300 and brand new they go for under $500 when on sale. I'm in Canada though so it could very well be more expensive in other parts of the world. The new stabalizer version is very expensive at close to $900 but why pay extra for a stabalizer that won't...

    Fuji X100s Manual Focusing

I find both have their strengths. Peaking works best when viewing the entire frame in EVF and for off centre subjects. Digital split image works best in the OVF (press the command rocker switch in and it'll switch the OVF to EVF magnified split image) when doing a very precise focusing...

    Fuji Macro lens options?

If you plan on being at 1:1 most of the time and don't mind a slightly shorter front working distance consider using a Adapted lens on a reversing ring. Most reversed 50mm lenses do a bit better than 1:1 and have the advantage of also being used the correct way around as a short tele. I often...

Fuji histogram - expose to the right

They've been in beta since I first came across them. Works fine but they are constantly updating (hint: like their FB page to get notified) for new cameras or adding features.mi suspect that at some point they'll either put up for sale to one of the big names like adobe as a plug in or go "prime...

Fuji histogram - expose to the right

The best way with any camera to take full advantage of ETTR is to calibrate your exposure meter to the RAW data. I calibrate the in camera meter as well as my external spot meter for all my cameras. I'll get to the how in a moment but the why deserves an explanation. By calibrating the RAW...

    Infrared Gear Infrared conversions

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum having only discovered it recently but I've been around for a while on fujixseries.com. Just wanted to let any infrared photography enthusiast out there know that although not many places are offering Fujifilm conversions but I emailed Kolari Vision and...
