I have had a play with the GX80 and it is wonderful!!
I see it a decent replacement for the GF1 rather than anything to do with the GX8 although it is a smaller version. I loved the GF1's that i owned and this could be another camera to love.
OK it's only 16Mpx but no AA filter...WOW!
Looking for a reliable 17" laptop with SSD drive and shed loads of RAM for photo editing. Can anyone recommend me one or at least a make to concentrate on. I have not had a laptop for about 20 years so am well out of touch. I have had a look on line and I think I want something in between a...

On my iMac Flickr has always been super fast but recently it has slowed down to crawling pace. I have buzzed around the net but theres not much that I can find.
My iPad always struggles with flickr and has for the past year or so to the point where most images just won't load.
There are no...
I have been using LR since day 1 and love it to bits. It's such a great tool for image retouching with loads of great tools. The last 2 updates have made my LR slow and buggy. I'm getting a bit fed up with it so thought about alternatives. As part of my Job I managed to get DXO 10 Pro and...
As title, Whats your favorite camera / camera, lens combo for street photography?
I think I want a camera/camera and lens just for street. I have the LX100 which I'm in 2 minds about, I have the E-M1 with 12-35 f2.8 or 20mm f1.7. Thinking of getting a E-M10 and using the 20mm or poss get the...
Had a chance to do some promo shots for a friend at a disused farm in Surrey. Here are a couple of the results. It was a very experimental evening not ever having done this before.

I'm not sure if these 2 images work. I like them....I think. They kinda work in a way and it's a bit different from the usual street thing. They were taken on the Panasonic LF1 which adds the the roughness of the images. What do you think?

After playing with the Olympus E-M10 a lot lately I came to the conclusion that it reminds me SO much of the Panasonic GF1. Although I have the E-M5 and like it a lot, the E-M10 is a little honey! The size and handling just feels so right just as the GF1 did/does. When something feels right, it...
I have been asked at work to do a blog for our website about street photography. It's a beginners guide with mainly tips on equipment rather than technique. So the question is...

Just bought a 35mm f1.4 Samyang for the A7. I'm loving the sharpness and shallow DOF!! Here are a few pix.

I am gobsmackingly close to getting a GR as it's one camera that I have always wanted to try but have as yet never bought. I want a pocketable compact to compliment the A7.
After looking at shed loads of images I am more certain than ever that this camera is worth a punt but after reading...
Had a chance to play with the Panasonic LX100 at work today. What a nice camera!!
Feels nice in the hand
Feels very well made
Excellent view finder
Good rear screen
Good colour rendition, natural skin tones
Plenty of Fn buttons
Dials and buttons feel good quality
Just thought I would share....
Just bought Tonality Pro for Mac and I have to say it's pretty good. It's a good B&W converter and has some good colour adjustments too. The best thing is that it has a Clarity slider AND a structure slider with added adjustment!! It also can be used as stand...
As title, I have just bought a Sony A7 and I have a couple MF lenses to be getting on with. I was wondering which NEX lenses can I use direct onto the camera. I have seen the 24mm f1.8 on an A7. Any others that won't vignette too much?
Testing my new Olympus 60mm f2.8 Macro lens with Kenko M4/3 extension tubes and Mets Mecalight 480 light panel. Yes I know this has been done a million times but it was an easy thing to test the lens. I'm gonna have fun with this!!!!

Anyone else having the same problem. I have always had no problem copying the BBcode to show my images on here but this morning I found that I can not copy the BBcode or in fact any text from Flickr.
Update...Bugger!! I fixed it... D'oh!
I just shut the flickr window down and re...
I have the GX7 and am toying with the idea of replacing it with the E-M1. I have searched around the net and found that most reviews say the RAW files from both cameras are almost identical. If this is the case then I may as well keep the GX7. I love to edit RAW files so am interested to see if...
Has anyone got any news about this camera? There is a lot of hoo hub about the 'soon to be announced' Panasonic LX8 but I can't find that much info on the Trip-D.
Both these cameras have got me really interested, more so than the Sony RX100. I have an Olympus Trip film camera at hone on my...
What a weird camera. The camera is bigger than it looks in images but it's not heavy and feels nice in the hand. We only got a little play as the battery was low but we could see the depth of field change when reviewing an image on the back of the camera. Spooky how the DOF just changes to where...
On another thread I was pondering between an E-M1 and the GH4. The price was putting me off a bit but was seriously looking at getting one of these as serious body. On another forum someone was selling a mint E-M5 in silver (Yum!) for a really great price so before I knew it I had done the deed...
I have done a very bold thing and finally gone for just one system. It's something I have wanted to do for a long time and I have finally sold the last of my Fuji gear. I am now M4/3 only and will try to stick with it as long as I can. IQ from fuji, Sony, Canon etc are better but the M43 system...
I have never been a fan of fisheye but I bought this Samyang 7.5mm lens after a chap at work kept banging on about how good it was. I must say he was right!! It's very sharp and a great fun lens to use. I managed to pick one up cheap so thought it worth having a go.

I dunno if I'm just getting old or lazy but I'm getting more and more fed up with changing lenses. Years ago when I had just a Panasonic TZ6 life was so much simpler. Now I never know what lens to take out with me so usually just stick on a wide angle to make sure I get everything in. Of course...
I bought my 1st GF1 about 4 years ago and have sold and re bought a few. It's just one of those cameras that just 'fits' my world. I love it. I have had many other M4/3 cameras inc the GX7 but none are as nice to use than the GF1. Now having the Fuji system which I love to bits I was thinking...
I got the Olympus 9mm f8 fisheye today (On loan from work) and took a few test shots on the G6. I must say it is a pretty good lens which does not barrel images too much and is pretty sharp. It will make a good, small, light landscape lens and have the ability to let you have some fun with it...
I wish it were mine....:frown:

Not a big fan of the dramatic tone filter on Olympus cameras but is does work for some things. Took these on my Stylus 1 which is a pretty good camera.

I have set myself a challenge for the month of March so as from tomorrow (1st March) every image I take regardless of which camera I use will be in Mono/Black & White. I will also be setting the camera to JPG mono setting so no colour version at all to play with. I will try and post a pic a day...
Managed to get out today on my day off Whoop!! The sun was shining so took the Olympus Stylus 1 out on it's 1st mission into our nearest major town, Croydon.

Bought a nice example of the Voigtlander 25mm f0.95 and took a few test shots this morning. Super sharp lens and easy to manage with the focus peaking and IBIS on the Panasonic GX7. I'm sure the OMD would have done a better job on the stabilising but the GX7 wasn't bad. It's great to get decent...
I luuurv mono / Black & white images and thought it may be fun to spend a whole month just shooting in mono. I have 3 choices to do this.
1: Shoot in colour and convert to mono.
2: Just shoot in Mono on JPG setting only so theres no temptation to post colour images.
3: a mixture of both...
Just thought I would post a link to Serge Ramelli's you tube page. I find he is a great person to teach LR. He does go over the top with processing a bit but I like his style.
Hope this link works. If not just search his name on YouTube.
