I put the p20 back on my E-M5. Makes a great casual shooter. A little wider than I prefer, but OK.

    Micro 4/3 Favorite walkabout prime?

Last minute possible change of plans. The wife decided she wants a short zoom for her Gf5. That will get me the P20 for my E-M5. I can live with the P20 just fine. I think it's a mistake, because she shoots people in low light, and does not like the flash color. I know that the white balance can...

Looking on eBay, there is a vast difference in prices. For a long term purchase, I can't justify taking the cheap way out. So I will have to grunt and take the punch to the wallet. Only, it's going to take a few more days to put together the funds for it. I think the Sigma 30mm f1.4 will make a...

Thanks moonmind, I owned the Sigma 30mm f2.8 for a while. neat little lens, that had trouble focusing for flowers. I had noticed the f1.4 mentioned a few times, and was curious. In absolute clarity and detail, which is your choice? The sigma 30mm f1.4, or Panasonic 25mm f1.7?

I have the Olympus E-M5i. I am now carrying it with a 35mm adapted lens. I am thinking of moving to a AF prime, in the same general focal length. I shoot almost all outdoors, in all light conditions, and am looking for the cleanest detail and color, that I can get. My budget is very tight. The...

This week We went to Cumberland Falls, Ky. I carried my only body (E-M5i) with the heavy 35m Pentax adapted lens on a light collapsible monopod. I like the size weight combo, for the balance and stability. I also like the perspective for a single focal length. I never felt handicapped by the...

    Of Primes and Men

With nearly 60 years of cameras and lenses tried and moved on, I have one camera body, that wears a adapted 35mm from Pentax. Occasionally I "borrow" the P20mm from the wife's camera. I sometimes think about something else to add, maybe a long zoom, But, at this time in my life, I then say, WHY?

    Another speculation thread: Digital IS.

Maybe a bit of old school in me. With the 5 axis E-M5, I still have to use a solid prop or tripod. I have too much old man shakes, tremble and weave, for the in camera wizardly.

This hangs on my bedroom wall. The object of the thought, is in a special wood box. Sadly, I can't really read it, (bad eyes) my first bible, that I bought over fifty years ago, and preached, and taught from. I now use a e-reader, or my phone.

This old broken anvil, in my front yard, could tell some "hot" stories. It was used to sledge hammer sharpen red hot "pounder" oil well drilling bits. I pounded a few, when I was a young man, alongside my father-in-law. Build a wood fire, around the cutting edge, until it is red, and quickly...

I was actually browsing eBay last night for possibilities. The first gen E-M5 can be had pretty reasonable. I am curious about the GX80. I still have the Pentax 35mm SMC 3.5 on a m4/3 adapter, that I like very well. Money is the hold up for a bit.

For me, the next step of frame corner assembly after glue-up, is prep for wood spline. With a simple jig on the table saw, a kerf is prepared. End grain glue, in wood does not have much holding power, so the spline across the grain. Next time!

I gave my E-M5 to my daughter, not planning to do any serious photography. A few days later, this challenge caught my eye and interest. So picked up the wife's GF 5, with the 20mm, and it's under exposing terribly. Of course it is in the dungeon, that I use for the wood shop, without a flash...
